Sunday Mornings
We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us! Please see our pastor’s welcome
video on the homepage for more details on our Sunday worship.
Service
Every Sunday morning we gather as a church to worship our risen
Savior through the public reading of Scripture, prayer, singing, the
preaching of God’s Word, and fellowship. Our corporate worship
service begins at 10:30am and is open to all. Our service usually
ends sometime around noon.
Service Times
- Sunday School: 9:00–10:15am
- Greeting and Welcome: 10:15–10:30am
- Morning Service: 10:30am–Noon
How do I get there?
For detailed directions, please visit us on Google Maps or use the
one below.
What should I wear?
Our church has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see
some dressed up; some dressed casual. Our pastors tend to
dress formally (e.g., coat and tie) as an expression of the
reverence we give to the responsibilities of preaching and
handling God’s Word. Please dress as formally or informally as
you would like and we’ll be glad that you are with us! We have no
expectations for attire.
Child Care
We have a nursery for newborns and infants for parents to use as
they like and we also have a family room for preschool/kinder and
up. These spaces are for guests and members with small children
to use as they feel comfortable during our worship service. We
also want you to know that we would love to have your whole
family join us! While we know that this may not be the normal
practice in our culture, we desire to have children join us in the
corporate worship service as soon as they are able. We are
committed to “bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the
Lord.” (Eph 6:4), and one of the ways that we accomplish that is
by training, modeling, and teaching our children the value of
participating in the corporate worship gathering.
Sunday School
Sunday School is for all ages and begins at 9:00am. We have
classes for ages 3–11, and an adult/youth Sunday School class. We highly
encourage all of our church family, adults included, to attend the
Sunday School to enjoy the fellowship and equipping that the time
affords. If you’re planning a visit, we’d encourage you to get the
most out of the morning by joining us for Sunday School. After
Sunday School, from 10:15–10:30am, we have a built-in time of
fellowship.
Preaching
Expository preaching is the most fundamental method of
preaching the Bible accurately. The text of Scripture must guide
the messenger as he presents the message to the listeners.
Biblical exposition is God-centered preaching—involving reading
of the text, explaining the meaning of the text, expressing the
implications of the text, and challenging the hearts of the believers
based on what the text says.
Worship
Skillful use of blended music, the traditional with the
contemporary, will add to the variety of options the music ministry
has in supporting the service. The biblical guideline is to sing
“psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.” To sing psalms is to employ
songs from the Psalter. Hymns are songs that are driven by a
strong theology of God. Spiritual songs are songs driven by
biblical truths and deep with spiritual meaning and insight. The
Scriptures and biblical truths being sung are always more
important than the music that facilitates it. Yet the music provides
a God given means of assisting mere human singing of spiritual
truth into true spiritual worship of our glorious God and Savior.
Communion
On the first Sunday of the month, we observe the Lord’s Supper
during the worship gathering. Communion serves as a reminder
of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This is a time of reflection,
humility, and gratitude when we consider that the one who died in
our place was God’s One and only Son. The Lord’s Supper also
serves as a reminder of our place in the new covenant.
Communion causes us to look forward to the day of Christ’s
coming and identifies us with the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord’s
Supper reminds us of the fearful consequences of participating in
the ordinance of Communion while harboring unconfessed sin.
Communion is available to all who are saved, even if they are just
visiting the church.
Fellowship
We enjoy a fellowship meal together after our service ends. This
is a great time for our guests and members to just be together
and engage in biblical fellowship. If you happen to visit on any
Sunday, we hope that you will stay and join us for lunch!
A Note from Pastor Rob Kimsey
